Quick Start

Note: All toolbars shown below have a small set of buttons. You can change the size of buttons on the Options | Preferences | View page. Also some interface details (icons, menus etc.) can slightly differ in different versions of Mr. Captor. But the basic principle stays the same.

Capture

Mr. Captor provides three ways of capture:

  1. Capture with help of Menu/Capture Bar.
  2. Using the context menu when the program is in the system tray.
  3. Hotkey capture.

These three ways of capture are discussed below.

1. Capture with help of Menu/Capture Bar

Main menu has the Capture submenu:

Capture menu

This submenu has a set of capture commands. Select one of them to start a capture.
For example, to start the capture of window(s) click the Windows command.
Using one of these commands is equivalent to the pressing of Capture Bar buttons:

Capture bar 1

The second part of Capture Bar is designed for the capture options and contains a set of radio buttons:

Capture bar 2

2. Using the context menu when the program is in the system tray

Your can minimize the program to the system tray by clicking on the 'Minimize Window' button. System tray is a small region at the right bottom screen corner. Minimizing the program into the system tray removes it from the task bar:

System Tray

Click the right mouse button on tray icon to show the context menu:

Context Menu

To start a capture execute the appropriate context menu command.

3. Hotkey capture

The last and the most powerful capture method is the hotkey capture.
Hotkeys is a special keyboard sequences linked with the capture commands.
User can press a hotkey at any time when Mr. Captor is running. It causes an execution of corresponding capture command.
User can change the hotkeys on the Options | Preferences | Hotkeys page.

We strongly recommend to read the How To topic before you begin.

Post-capture editing

Mr. Captor has the built-in image editor for a post-capture editing.

Image Editor features:

Savings

Each graphical format has its own options.
The program applies current settings to the graphical file when it saves the image.
