Using Hotkeys

Hotkeys are the keyboard sequences.

They work as long as Mr. Captor is running and enable the user to capture when the program's main window is unavailable. Hotkeys also provide a way to capture those things that can't be captured by another way: menus, cursors, splash screens etc.

For example, to capture a popup window with help of hotkeys, force it to be visible and press the <Capture widow> hotkey. The screen will be 'frozen' so you can capture a window as described in the Windows Capture topic.
If you would try to capture that window with help of the Capture Bar button or menu command, a popup window disappears right after you set the focus to the Mr. Captor's main window.

Note: Mr. Captor's hotkeys can conflict with hotkeys installed by other programs.
Also hotkeys can affect the menu and accelerators of other programs.
Be careful. Avoid frequently used sequences, such as <F1>. Change the conflicting hotkey if needed.

Default hotkeys:

<Capture Frame> Ctrl+Shift+F
<Capture Screen> Ctrl+Shift+PrnScrn
<Capture Window> Ctrl+Shift+W
<Capture Active Window> Ctrl+Shift+A
<Capture Region> Ctrl+Shift+R
<Capture Fixed Region> Ctrl+Shift+X
<Capture Cursor> F11
<Capture Color> Ctrl+Shift+C
<Start/Stop Timer> Ctrl+Shift+T

See the Hotkeys customizing for learning how to change the default settings for hotkeys.
